Pastoral Care

The purpose of Pastoral Care is to minister to the New Zion family during their times of need in the following times:
  • Hospital Visitation
  • Bereavement
Hospital Visitation

The purpose of hospital visitation is to ministry to the needs of members of New Zion Baptist church, their family and the people within the surrounding community without this resource, during times of serious or life threatening illnesses. This is accomplished through:
  • Home visitation
  • Sending cards
  • Phone calls
Bereavement Ministries

The purpose of bereavement ministries is to minister to members when they experience a death of a relative or friend. The grieving process can be lengthy and intense. We provide assistance with funeral arrangements, selecting a location and scheduling the funeral, flowers, minister, and a musician.

Food Service

The priority of New Zion is the word of God. In the bible on more than one occasion we find the children of God sitting and breaking bread together. One such time is when Jesus had compassion on the 5000 and began to heal their sick, the disciples wanted to send the people away before it got too late, to go into the villages and buy themselves some food. The Master had a thing or two to say about that, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." (Matthew 14:13-21). Likewise after Bodybuilding class we sat and break bread each Sunday between the hours of 11:00 – 11:30. Additionally each month the kitchen provides cake to sit in fellowship with our fellow believers to celebrate their birthday. New Zion’s kitchen is a ministry that uses food to display the love of Christ by providing food to the hungry as an outreach. We believe you just can’t tell a brother or sister to, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” James 2:14-16. New Zion’s goal is to have a positive impact on the world around us.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Proverbs 22:6

The Youth Ministry at New Zion Baptist Church is a dynamic and innovative place for students to discover God's unique design and call for their life. Through peer interaction, small group bible study, and relevant application, students are encouraged not only to learn the principles of scripture, but to live them as well. The two main vehicles that we use to make this happen are our BodyBuilding (Sunday School), and our Wednesday Night Encounter (Youth Group).

We also offer a variety of ministries that encourage personal and spiritual growth, while providing a place for healthy expression of gifts, talents, and abilities, including: Voices of Promise (Youth Choir), Drill Team, Praise Dance, Youth Ushers, Speakers, Bible Drill, Tutoring, Drawing, Outreach, and Y.E.S. (Youth Entering Service).

Youth Main Events:
Spring Lock-In, Back-To-School Event, Outreach Trips, and more…

Wednesday Night Encounter
This unique mid-week service is designed specifically with youth in mind.
