New Zion Baptist Church

Greetings from the Pastor

If you are reading this letter let me first thank you for your interest in The "New" New Zion Baptist Church. We understand that you worship where you please and through the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ you have chosen New Zion. New Zion is filled with loving people, that love God first and then mankind. We provide exciting worship filled with warm fellowship, inspiring music, and Bible-based preaching that is applicable to life’s journey.

There are many good churches in Lubbock each with its own uniqueness. Please allow me to share with you why New Zion is so unique. Many call us "Moderate Baptist." I prefer the term "free from tradition." We are committed to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We believe that one must apply the Holy Bible to ones life in order to be effective.

At New Zion what is traditionally called Sunday school, we call "Body Building" according to Ephesians 4:11-12. We call it "body building" simply because we believe this is where the Body of Christ takes root through education and sound biblical teaching. Building the Body of Christ starts here. What is traditionally called Wednesday night Bible study, we call "Spiritual Connection" based on 1Peter 2:4-8. We at New Zion believe the cross (NEXUS) is where God and man connects. Lastly, what is traditionally called Mid-day service, we call "The Living Word" according to John 1:1-5. We believe there is but one way to the Father and that is through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

New Zion, where lives are changed one soul at a time.
